Misconceptions Regarding Islamic Congratulations on Months and Moon Sightings
It is not permissible in Islam to give congratulations or blessings on any Islamic month or sighting of the moon, nor is it correct to be the first to offer congratulations. Considering such actions as meritorious or labeling them as Sunnah is part of a fabricated tradition. There is no authentic tradition stating that offering congratulations leads to the Hellfire being obligatory or Paradise being guaranteed.
